All About Me.
My web designer wants me to write an "ABOUT" section for my new website. Like...ABOUT ME and what I do. Try to sell myself to the public (not like a prostitute) and tell people why they should buy my signs instead of someone else's. Those who know me will be surprised to hear that I don't know what to write. I might have writer's block. That never happens to me.
Should I tell everyone how awesome I am and that I have no idea what I am doing most of the time? Should I tell everyone that even though I have been making signs for over 30 years that there is probably a better and easier way to make these signs, but I am old and set in my ways and prefer to do it the hard way? Should I tell them that a website scares the poo out of me? Should I tell them that my goal for this website is to make me a bazillionaire by 2026 and then I am going to sell out and move to the Bahamas? Should I tell them I am an easily distracted crazy lady when I'm not making signs? I am just not sure how to get my point across that I want to be RICH and not have to work very hard at it. Should I tell my future customers that if I got paid for procrastinating that I would already be living in Costa Rica or the Bahamas? I like to keep my options open for location. I had a lady call and order a sign 2 weeks ago that she needs for Valentine's Day. She called again to see how it was coming. WHAT DAY IS THIS? January 24th? I still have 3 weeks to procrastinate that. Don't rush me. I will get it done on February 12th. Maybe I shouldn't tell anyone I work best under pressure.
I was stalking other websites to see what they wrote in their ABOUT page. You know...trying to steal ideas. Did you know some people have COUNTDOWNS on their page? Like, if you need a sign for Valentine's Day you need to have it ordered by January 20th. After this last December I need to set my countdown to the 4th of July. HOLY COW we were busy making signs. What if I have to hire more people because of this website. What if this website makes my sign business so big that I have to turn it into a factory and hire children from poverty countries to come and live here and work for me? I have been working for myself with one employee for so long I would definitely not know how to do that. What if my husband has to sell his farm and come to work for me? What if we have to use his shop AND my shop? Oh Geez, I got a little off track there.
This website is freaking me out a little bit. The jist here is...I need help writing my ABOUT page. And when you get done helping me with that will you also help me find the right pictures to put on it?
